**Open Chrome, tap More (the three dots) at the top right, then Downloads.** If your address bar sits at the bottom of the screen, swipe up on it and tap Downloads instead. That list is Chrome's own record of what it saved. It is not the same thing as everything in your phone's Download folder, and Google's help is the first to say so.

## Chrome's list, in Google's words
Google's Android help for Chrome repeats the same opening for every task: "At the top right, tap More Downloads", or on a bottom address bar, "swipe up on the address bar. Tap Downloads". From that list you can pause or cancel a file still arriving, share, delete or rename. To act on several at once, "touch and hold the files you want to delete, then tap Delete", and sharing works the same way ([*Download a file*, Chrome Help, Android](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95759?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid), read 22 October 2026). For the wider pile, the same page sends you elsewhere: "To find all the files that you've downloaded to your device, open the Files app."

## What else shows up in it

**Pages saved for offline reading.** A page you saved with More › Download is read back from this same list: "From your downloads list, find the page you saved" ([*Read pages later & offline*, Chrome Help, Android](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/7343019?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid), read 22 October 2026). So the list mixes files with pages, which is one reason it can look longer than the folder.

**Blocked downloads, briefly.** A warning for a file Chrome stopped stays only a short time: "If you take no action, Chrome will remove it from your history in one hour" ([*Google Chrome blocks some downloads*, Chrome Help](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6261569?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid), read 22 October 2026).

## What the list will not show you

**Files other apps saved.** The list is Chrome's own record, so we would not expect WhatsApp attachments, files from another browser or anything copied over a cable to be in it. Android's help is plain about where to look: "you can usually find your files in the Files app", and if there is no Files app, "your device manufacturer might have a different app" ([*Find & delete files on Android*, Android Help](https://support.google.com/android/answer/2781972?hl=en), read 22 October 2026).

**Incognito, unclear.** Chrome's Incognito page says "Files that you download will remain on your device until you delete them" ([*Browse in Incognito mode*, Chrome Help, Android](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid), read 22 October 2026). Whether those files also appear in the Downloads list, the page does not say; it is silent on that. The folder is the place to check.

**A record you cleared.** Chrome's page on deleting browsing data lists "Downloaded file" among items you can remove one by one, but does not spell out whether removing an entry also removes the file from storage ([*Delete browsing data in Chrome*, Chrome Help, Android](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2392709?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid), read 22 October 2026). On that point it is silent, so we would not count on either outcome.

## The folder behind the list
Chrome says each file "will be saved in your default download location" (the *Download a file* page above); on most phones that is the Download folder. Opening it in a file app shows what is actually there, from every app, sorted however you like. [Where that folder is](https://adinandsorter.com/answers/where-do-downloads-go-on-android) has its own page.

## If Adinand Auto File Sorter is sorting Download
Download is the folder the app watches unless you choose others. A sort moves each finished file out of it into `Downloads › Sorted Files` (or the folder you picked instead, on Android 11 and newer), into a folder named for its category. Chrome's help does not say what its list shows for a file another app has moved (the *Download a file* page above), so if an entry no longer opens, look in that category folder rather than downloading the file again. Every sort is listed in the app's History; undoing the most recent one is free, and undoing an older one is a Pro feature.
